A few days ago, the Fire Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a performance evaluation work meeting on the key research project of the science and technology plan, "Research on China's Fire Elimination of PFOS Substances-Environmentally Friendly Fluorocarbon Surfactants. The project is developed by the Fire Product Conformity Assessment Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management. It is one of the key projects in the field of research on the implementation of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. The project participants include Tianjin Fire Research Institute and Jiangsu Suolong Fire Technology Co., Ltd. Director Zhang Quanling of Science and Technology Department of Fire Rescue Bureau presided over the meeting, and the evaluation expert group was composed of 5 well-known domestic fire fighting and emergency rescue fields.

At the meeting, researcher Dong Jingfei, head of the research project and director of the Fire Product Conformity Assessment Center, made a detailed report on the project background and research and development significance, assessment indicators and completion, innovative achievements of the project, application and promotion, and the use of funds. The expert group carefully reviewed the relevant technical data. After questioning and discussion, it was agreed that the project has completed the research tasks specified in the mission statement, and the results fully meet the requirements of the assessment indicators. The novelty and advancement are outstanding, and the output is environmentally friendly. The fire extinguishing performance and anti-burning performance of the fire extinguishing agent have reached the international leading level. Agree that the project through performance evaluation.
 
The project studies and determines the key technical properties of environmentally friendly fluorocarbon surfactants, breaks foreign technical barriers, successfully develops PFOS (persistent organic pollutants)-free fluorocarbon surfactants based on domestic raw materials and with completely independent intellectual property rights, and innovates the compounding and application methods of surfactants. The fire extinguishing performance and anti-burning performance of the produced environmentally friendly aqueous film-forming foam fire extinguishing agent have reached the international leading level, A number of invention patents were created. The project has also developed a rapid verification method for trace PFOS substances in foam extinguishing agents and has formed a fire rescue industry standard. The results have been promoted and tried in five provincial fire rescue teams in Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Shandong and Hunan. Hunan and Hebei have been applied to fire fighting with good results.
