From November 27 to 29, 2019, the fifth meeting and standard review meeting of the second session of the ship fire protection sub technical committee of SAC/TC137/SC8 National Marine Machinery Standardization Technical Committee was held in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Ma Jianmin, manager of the Ministry of international trade, attended the meeting on behalf of suolong fire protection.

Secretary of the Fire Protection Sub-CommitteeDivisionSecretary-General Sun Meng summarized the work of the Sub-technical Committee for one year. The main contents include five aspects: the current situation of standards, standard application, standards under research, field research and demand suggestions. At the same timeSubcontracting Technical CommitteeThe committee members who have performed well in the past five years were commended, and the preliminary ideas such as the scope of the next committee recruitment, the construction of the observer team, and the establishment of the resources of the expert database outside the industry were briefly reported to the participants.

The meeting set the theme of technical exchange of equipment for ship firefighters. Experts such as Dr. Wang Junsheng from Tianjin Fire Research Institute of Emergency Management Department were specially invited to introduce in detail the current situation and development trend of personal protective equipment for firefighters, wet chemical fire extinguishing system for marine kitchens, and mechanism research on carbon dioxide fire extinguishing technology.At the same time, representatives of relevant enterprises were invited to share their experiences on the development and standard application of firefighter equipment products.During the meeting, the participants had a detailed exchange with experts from the aspects of firefighter equipment reference standard selection, kitchen fire extinguishing system test, personal protective equipment testing, and effective supplement of group standards.

On November 29, in order to better benchmark advanced enterprises, the Secretariat of the Ship Fire Protection Sub-Technical Committee organized more than 10 representatives of major domestic firefighter equipment manufacturing companies and related committee members to Meisian (China) Safety Equipment Co., Ltd. Enterprise research, exchange and discussion on the application of domestic and foreign standards for firefighter helmets, air respirators, portable gas detectors and other equipment.
